LAHORE: Brother of a patient admitted in Services Hospital’s gynae ward on Monday was reportedly tortured to death by security guards following a dispute.
The man, who was reportedly a constable in Motorway Police, had supposedly misbehaved with the lady doctor after an argument, leading his family to break into the ward. Upon being stopped by the security guard, the patient’s family attacked the guard and insulted the lady doctor, as per the staff’s claim.
The hospital security and young doctors then reached the ward, alarmed with the news of the conflict. As per reports, the guards started beating Sunil, the brother of the patient, leaving him seriously injured where he later succumbed to death.
The police reached the scene and shifted the body to mortuary for autopsy. The family of the deceased has filed an application against Services Hospital’s staff at Shadman Police Station.
